Oldenburg’ main premium winner in 2008 with top rideability and dressage scores in the 70-day test San Amour is a perfect example of modern-day dressage breeding. He has a beautiful silhouette with naturally uphill conformation, a highly effective and rarely seen trot action and exemplary rideability. In his 70-day test, he received two 9.5 scores for rideability. His dressage index was the highest in his group at 137.74 and his overall index was an impressive 126.49. San Amour was the most coveted stallion at his licensing in 2006 and sold at auction for EUR 450,000, impressively delivering on expectations with a first crop of foals that included a main premium champion. “His” audience in Vechta celebrated this noble black stallion with tumultuous applause. In Westphalia, he produced the top priced auction foal, which sold for EUR 70,000. San Amour is clearly bred for performance. His dam Puppenfee, also an impressive mover, was reserve champion mare in Oldenburg, has elite mare status and produced San Amour’s full sister Auguste Victoria, the reigning Oldenburg Regional Champion. The maternal grandsire, Plaisir d’Amour, competed at the World Championship in 1998, while Figaro has produced performance horses in all disciplines – Ludger Beerbaum’s successful show jumper Figaro’s Boy, for example. The fourth generation of the pedigree is refined by the thoroughbred blood of the popular stallion Kronprinz xx.
